Polestar Brings Hot Wheels Cars To Life With Synergy Concept

Published On

Polestar Synergy is a full-scale model that combines three concepts from Polestar's most recent design competition. Not only does the idea resemble a Hot Wheels car, but the Mattel-owned toy company has stated that it will collaborate with Polestar on next year's challenge. For the time being, we're delving into some of the more intriguing aspects of the Synergy notion.

Polestar asked participants to produce a design centered on performance for this year's design contest. It must, however, present an "advanced technical story that enables this in a sustainable way." As a consequence, the Synergy idea resembles a Le Mans hypercar without the busy livery.

884-horsepower Giant

The Synergy idea is a little under three and a half feet tall and approximately 15 feet long. Its exterior is painted the same white as the previous Polestar designs. While no more technical specifics are provided, we are told that the idea is electric. We'd also bet it features two motors, which would likely match or exceed the 884 horsepower produced by the Polestar 6's powerplant.

Defined Aerodynamics

The Synergy idea, like earlier Polestar vehicles, can be recognized by the name stamped on the front fenders, which on the Synergy concept terminate in a dramatic floating design that breaks away from the body. Large aerodynamic components on either side of them appear to guide air through the body and out the back.

The brake lights on the Synergy idea are largely highlighted on a full-width light bar, in addition to enormous wheels extended out to all four corners. Those interested in entering its cockpit will do so through a glass canopy that swings forward like a fighter jet.

Gold Seatbelts

When the canopy is raised, the single seat becomes a throne for the driver, who is secured with Polestar's characteristic gold seatbelts. Above the driver's seat is what looks to be a virtual-reality visor that displays extra information not displayed on the gauge cluster.

Grand Forward Sight

In the Synergy idea, forward sight is essentially unhindered. Drivers may monitor the battery's temperature and status of charge, in addition to the information presented on the gauges and steering yoke, through colorful screens on either side of the cockpit.

The driver can more readily find the front tires based on the view through the glass canopy, owing to the arrangement of the tall front fenders. The steering wheel looks to feature a heartbeat monitor and frames a frameless gauge cluster display that shows the speedometer, G-force meter, and tire pressure monitor.

The sloping roofline of the Synergy design flows into a rear spoiler that crosses the fenders. A third brake light and rear-facing cameras look to be housed in the black panel on the back. "360-Vision" is also written in white text on the item.

The Polestar Synergy concept was debuted at this year's Munich car show, and it will also be on exhibit during the Hot Wheels Legends Tour in El Segundo, California.
